This Blueberry Vanilla Healing Smoothie is one of my favorites for when I want something gentle and nourishing. Itโs packed with calming ingredients like blueberries and chia seeds, and it blends together into the prettiest color. I especially love it as part of my healing routine, whether Iโve been under the weather or I’m recovering from something.
My Healing Journey
I started making this smoothie after surgery, when I needed foods that were easy to make and rich in nutrients to support my recovery. During that time, I was paying close attention to everything I ate. I couldnโt tolerate much at first, but this smoothie was something I looked forward to!
It was cold, refreshing, and easy to drink, with lots of protein, fiber, and anti-inflammatory support. Even now that Iโm feeling better, I still make it several times a week.
Why Add Collagen to Smoothies?
I started adding collagen to my smoothies as part of my recovery from surgery. Collagen supports tissue repair, skin elasticity, joint health, and gut lining integrity. Everything that’s important during the healing process!
Iโve noticed that when I stay consistent with it, my digestion feels calmer and my body just feels more supported overall. Itโs a quiet kind of nourishment, and it blends so easily into this smoothie without changing the taste.

Recipe Variations for Blueberry Vanilla Healing Smoothie
- I like to make this blueberry vanilla smoothie with coconut milk, but you can use any plant-based milk that you like, or regular milk if you prefer!
- I use frozen blueberries in this recipe, since that helps to make the smoothie cold. If you use fresh blueberries, you may need to add some ice to make the smoothie cold.
- For the yogurt in this smoothie, my favorite vanilla yogurt to use is Noosa Vanilla Bean Yogurt since I think it has the best vanilla flavor. But you can use whichever yogurt you like!
- For some extra nutrients in this smoothie, you can add half a banana (fresh or frozen) and/or a handful of baby spinach, if you like green smoothies!
- Feel free to customize this smoothie however you like. I recommend writing down your recipe variations so you can remember what you like (or didn’t like) and develop your own favorite recipe. You can get my free recipe journal and planner here and use it to save your recipes.
