I love, love, love green smoothies.

I started making them several years ago, when I finally decided to purchase a fancy blender.

I actually didn’t know anyone who was into making green smoothies, or who owned a high speed blender.  I spent a lot of time reading reviews and trying to figure out which one to buy, and I finally decided to go with a Blendtec.  I’m pretty sure my family thought I was crazy, spending so much money on a blender.

My family might think I’m crazy, but I know I’m crazy… Crazy smart, that is! I saved up my money, found a coupon, and I bought the blender!

It is worth every penny.

I use this blender for making so many delicious things! It blends everything soooo smoothly!

  • Guacamole
  • Arugula pesto
  • Hummus
  • Soup
  • Piña coladas (aka rum smoothies)
  • Too many more items to list

And of course, green smoothies ♡

Here’s my recipe for the green smoothies I’ve been making this week.

Peachy Green Smoothie

Category

Yields1 Serving
Total Time5 mins

¾ cup Coconut Milk (Trader Joe's Vanilla Coconut Milk is the best!)
 1 Banana
 1 cup Organic Baby Spinach
 ½ cup Frozen Peaches
 ½ cup Frozen Mangoes
 1 tbsp Raw Honey (optional)

1

In the order listed above, add all ingredients to the pitcher of a high speed blender. Blend on medium speed for 45 seconds, then switch to high speed for another 45 seconds.

2

Enjoy with your favorite reusable straw!

Recipe Notes

  • Green smoothies come out the best with a high speed blender, like a Blendtec.  Otherwise you'll end up with a chunky green smoothie with leaves in it. Nobody wants to drink a green chunkie! (At least I don't!)
  • I use the preprogrammed cycles on my Blendtec for this smoothie - on the Designer series, I run the Mixed Drinks cycle, followed by the Smoothie cycle.

Ingredients

¾ cup Coconut Milk (Trader Joe's Vanilla Coconut Milk is the best!)
 1 Banana
 1 cup Organic Baby Spinach
 ½ cup Frozen Peaches
 ½ cup Frozen Mangoes
 1 tbsp Raw Honey (optional)

Directions

1

In the order listed above, add all ingredients to the pitcher of a high speed blender. Blend on medium speed for 45 seconds, then switch to high speed for another 45 seconds.

By the way…

For this post I conducted a scientific* survey asking college students** if they enjoyed drinking green smoothies***, and if so, why?

The consensus was, “Yes, because after drinking them, you feel refreshed and energized.”

I think that sums it up perfectly.

***All green smoothies on which the evaluations were based were blended by the Green Smoothie Goddess with her Blendtec.
