How to Make Homemade White Chocolate Peppermint Creamer
This creamer is made by melting white chocolate chips and sugar in half and half on the stove using medium-low heat. Once the white chocolate chips are melted, you’ll add the peppermint and vanilla extracts. Then let the creamer cool to room temperature before transferring to a glass bottle or jar with a lid. Store in the refrigerator up to 7 days.
Here are the step by step instructions for making this recipe.
First, you’ll need to gather your ingredients.
Measure the half and half and add it to a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir in the sugar. If you like really sweet coffee, you can add a little extra!
Next, you’ll add the white chocolate chips. Stir gently with a whisk until they’re completely melted, being careful not to let the mixture boil.
Once the white chocolate chips are completely melted, turn off the heat and take the saucepan off the hot burner. Add in the peppermint extract and vanilla extract, along with a tiny pinch of salt, and whisk to combine.
Let the creamer sit about 15-20 minutes to cool to room temperature, whisking occasionally so the mixture stays smooth.
Transfer the creamer to a glass bottle or jar with a lid. I like to pour the creamer from the saucepan into a liquid measuring cup, and then pour it into the glass bottle.
The white chocolate peppermint creamer will last in the fridge up to 7 days (also, note the expiration date of the half and half you used!).
Be sure to give your creamer a good shake before adding to your coffee, and enjoy!
Recipe Tips for Making White Chocolate Peppermint Creamer
This creamer recipe is gets its sweetness from sugar and white chocolate chips. You can adjust the sweetness by increasing or decreasing the amount of sugar you add.
For the best flavor, I recommend using Ghirardelli white chocolate chips. I listed the brands of vanilla and peppermint extract that I like to use in the Recipe Resources section. You can also use a chopped up white chocolate bar.
The creamer only needs to be heated long enough for the white chocolate chips to melt, so it really doesn’t take long at all. Just be sure to use medium-low heat (not high heat), and be careful not to boil the creamer.
