Unwind with this cozy, comforting chamomile vanilla tea latte. It’s the perfect hot tea drink to make in the evening as part of your nightly routine. This caffeine-free tea latte takes only a few minutes to make at home.
What’s the best chamomile tea to use for this recipe?
The best chamomile tea to use in this tea latte recipe is your favorite kind! That being said, I recommend using the Chamomile Vanilla tea made by Bigelow. This tea has a nice, subtle vanilla flavor that complements the chamomile tea and goes well with the addition of honey and almond milk for this tea latte.
What are the benefits of drinking chamomile tea in the evening?
Chamomile tea is an herbal tea and naturally caffeine-free, so you can drink it in the evening without worrying it will keep you awake. Chamomile has a calming effect and can help you fall asleep when you add this tea to your evening routine. It also contains antioxidants, which provide additional health benefits.
Kitchen Tools and Equipment
Here’s everything you’ll need to make this tea latte recipe.
- Keurig or Electric Tea Kettle for hot water
- Aeroccino milk frother for frothing almond milk
- Ember mug for keeping tea latte warm
Ingredients for making a Chamomile Vanilla Tea Latte
- Raw honey
- Hot water
- Chamomile vanilla tea bag
- Vanilla almond milk
This tea latte recipe gets its vanilla flavor from the chamomile vanilla tea and the vanilla almond milk. If your tea and almond milk don’t have vanilla flavor, you can use a small amount of vanilla syrup in this recipe.
Heating water for tea
One of my favorite shortcuts for making tea is to use my Keurig machine for the hot water. I add the honey to my tea mug and run a cycle on the Keurig without a K-cup to get hot water. Then I add the tea and let it steep for a few minutes.
An electric tea kettle is another easy way to heat water for tea. Otherwise, just heat the water in the microwave or on the stovetop.
Frothing the almond milk
The easiest way to froth almond milk is with an Aeroccino made by Nespresso. With the Aeroccino you can add your almond milk, press the button, and have warm, frothed milk in less than a minute. This kitchen tool is a little pricey, but if you like tea and coffee latte drinks, it’s worth the investment for how well it works and the time it saves.
If you don’t have a milk frother, you can heat the almond milk in the microwave or on the stove before adding it to the tea. Heat it until it’s warm but not boiling. For a little extra effort you can shake the heated almond milk in a sealed glass, mix it in a blender, or pump it in a French press to froth it.
Keeping your chamomile tea latte warm
I have a bad habit of making tea and then letting it cool down too much before I drink it. Does that happen to you, too? It seems to be the perfect temperature for a small window of time and I miss it!
This Ember mug keeps your tea at a set temperature the whole time you’re drinking it so it stays warm. You can even adjust the temperature of your tea from your phone!
